A continuous process of reducing waste and pollution and using fewer energy, water and materials is obviously good for the environment and for the business. So, Cleaner Production creates a bridge between environmental improvements and economic benefits guiding to an efficient use of resources in economic processes.

A substantial part of used materials and energy doesn’t end up in the desired final product but turns into solid waste, waste water, energy losses and air emissions. Many related costs incurred by generating and processing as well as treatment and disposal of the so-called non-product outputs are hidden by the traditional cost accounting system. Therefore, Cleaner Production aims on many parts of the production process to show ways to do more with less by:

  • reduction of material and energy intensity of goods and services,
  • reduction of toxic dispersion,
  • enhancing material recyclability,
  • maximizing the sustainable use of renewable resources,
  • extension of product durability,
  • increasing the service intensity of goods and services.
